Barry Feldman, PhD
Dr. Feldman is a psychotherapist with more than 20 years of clinical, teaching and research experience. He counsels individuals and couples, with a focus on those in high-risk professions (e.g., law enforcement, fire/rescue, EMS, military) and their loved ones. Dr. Feldman also provides therapy to a broad range of people working in other “helping professions” (e.g., medical and mental healthcare providers, veterinary medicine professionals, educators, prosecutors, clergy) whose careers were negatively impacted by job-related and/or personal circumstances.Dr. Feldman also works with many other types of clients. His easy-going manner and collaborative style help clients develop effective strategies to enable them to better cope with, or to resolve challenges and issues, which adversely affect well-being and quality of life; depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, grief/loss, trauma, medical problems, etc.Dr. Feldman has personally dealt with adverse situations, stressful circumstances, and losses. Overcoming these hardships and the journey in doing so, helped him develop a shared understanding of what facing adversity can bring, and fueled his desire to help others. The blending of his academic training, life experiences, accumulated clinical skills, and his “ability to be real with clients” combine to make him an effective and sought-after clinician.
